Swachh Survekshan Grameen-2018 launched in Yapgo Village

PASIGHAT, July 29: Initiated by the EE (PHED) Pasighat Er. M. Dupak, centrally sponsored “Swachh Survekshan Grameen-2018” (SSG-2018) was formally launched in Yapgo village today by the Pasighat MLA Kaling Moyong in presence of Mondal President Obit Tamuk, Yuva Morcha President Talung Tamuk and villagers. Moyong along with party functionaries and villagers thoroughly cleaned in and around the village. While interacting with the people, he also took stock of availability and maintenance of water supply, sanitation and drainage systems etc in the area.

Later attending a public meeting held at the village Dere (Community hall), Moyong called upon the people to step out and clean their villages and surrounding areas with pride making cleanliness a daily habit across villages. He appealed the media fraternity to popularize the mission so that people are sensitized and participate actively in it. Taking privilege, the MLA also highlighted various centrally and state government sponsored beneficial schemes and projects, implemented in the district.

Earlier in his keynote address EE (PHED) Er. M. Dupak presented a brief progress report and underscored the benefits of cleanliness to lead healthy life. He informed that union government has engaged a private body to visit houses and schools taking stock of rural cleanliness. The team members would survey in the month of August’18 on the basis of villagers’ performance attained on key quantitative and qualitative evaluation.
