Ld. DGP of the State Review the Work and Operational Preparedness of the East Siang District Police

PASIGHAT, 05th Feb’2026: The Ld. Director General of Police (Ld. DGP), Arunachal Pradesh paid an official visit to Pasighat on 05 February 2026 to review the work and operational preparedness of East Siang District Police and the 5th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn).

Upon arrival, the Ld. DGP was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the contingent of the 5th IRBn. Thereafter, the Ld. DGP visited the Base Headquarters (BHQ), where a meeting was held with senior officers to review operational matters, inter-unit coordination, and welfare-related issues concerning East Siang District Police and the 5th IRBn.

During the visit, the Ld. DGP inaugurated the Saksham Multipurpose Hall and the Upgraded Gymnasium at the BHQ. The upgraded gymnasium has been equipped with modern fitness facilities to enhance physical conditioning, endurance, and overall well-being of personnel, reinforcing the emphasis on fitness and operational readiness.

A tree plantation programme was also conducted within the BHQ premises, highlighting the commitment of the Arunachal Pradesh Police towards environmental sustainability.

The Ld. DGP further conducted a Sampark Sabha with officers and personnel of East Siang District Police and the 5th IRBn. During the interaction, the Ld. DGP issued directions on strengthening crime prevention measures, promoting community policing, enhancing engagement with youth, and fostering public trust through proactive outreach and responsive policing.

The visit was attended by senior officers, including the Inspector General of Police (Law & Order), Inspector General of Police, Central Range, the Superintendent of Police, East Siang District, the Commandant, 5th IRBn, Deputy Superintendents of Police, and Assistant Commandants.

The visit reaffirmed the commitment of the Arunachal Pradesh Police towards strengthening infrastructure, improving personnel welfare, enhancing crime prevention strategies, and deepening community engagement in East Siang district.
