Inauguration of ‘Tulang’ Pure Edible Oil Factory Held at Pasighat
PASIGHAT, May 16: The inauguration ceremony of the ‘Tulang’ pure edible oil factory was held today at the Industrial Estate, 2 Mile, near Sawmill, Pasighat. The factory was inaugurated by the Honourable Minister Nyato Dukom, in the presence of 38 Pasighat East MLA Tapi Darang, 37 Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, and 39 Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Nyato Dukom said that to chase a dream, one must remain persistent and consistent. He lauded pilot-turned-entrepreneur Mohonto Pangin for turning his vision into reality. “People like Pangin are not just entrepreneurs; they are an inspiration for the youth of our state,” the Minister remarked. He highlighted that the establishment of factories and industries not only strengthens the state’s economy but also creates employment opportunities for the unemployed.
Turning to the region’s potential, the Minister laid special emphasis on the tourism sector. “Being a place of immense natural beauty, it is the duty of every citizen to extend warmth and hospitality to tourists. Such an attitude will boost the district’s economy in particular and help maintain a good image of the state before visitors,” he said. Concluding his speech, he urged the people to stand united in building the state’s growth, adding, “I see this new beginning emerging from East Siang district.”
Speaking on the occasion, the three local MLAs of East Siang jointly emphasized the importance of using locally produced goods. “Our local products are grown organically and are healthy. We appeal to everyone to go local and be vocal for local products,” they said. The MLAs also appreciated Mohonto Pangin for setting up the factory within the district, noting that it would greatly help local farmers in the coming days.
At the outset, Mohonto Pangin delivered the welcome speech, expressing his gratitude to all the dignitaries and sharing the journey behind his venture. He later submitted a memorandum to the Minister.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner of East Siang, Sonalika Jiwani, IAS, Chief Councillor of Pasighat Municipal Council, Tagom Padung; President of Kisan Morcha, Gumsen Lollen; and other dignitaries.
