Hon’ble Union Minister Bhagwanth Khuba chairs DISHA meeting at Pasighat on June 6, 2022
PASIGHAT, June 6: Convened by the District Administration, the first quarter meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committees (DISHA) of East Siang district was held today at the DC’s conference hall. The DISHA meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India, Bhagwanth Khuba. The head of departments presented the achievement reports and apprised the minister of the physical and financial achievements under the CSS’ implemented by their departments.
East Arunachal Loksabha MP Tapir Gao, MLAs Kaling Moyong and Ninong Ering, DC Tayi Taggu, SP Sumit Kr Jha, Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, ADC Tatdo Borang and HoDs were present in the meeting among others.
Minister Khuba thoroughly reviewed all the centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) implemented by various departments and exhorted all to execute the flagship schemes and other developmental works diligently, so that the benefit of each and every scheme reaches the targeted groups in a time-bound manner. After reviewing the implementation of all welfare oriented centrally sponsored schemes and projects, the Minister urged the DC to ensure transparency and quality implementation in the district as per the framed guidelines adding that the implementing agencies should also ensure that the public are made aware of all the available programmes/schemes sponsored by the central government. They should adopt appropriate steps to make follow-up success stories of beneficiaries who have been benefitted through various CSS schemes which would help them to generate income and employment to others directly or indirectly, he stated.
Later during a press conference held at the same venue, the Minister told the media-persons that the North East was a very important region of the country and unless it is properly connected with the rest of India in every aspect, there would be no sense of unity and true development. Khuba asserted that ever since the Narendra Modi government came to power, we have taken forward the development of north-east in a phase manner by making them contributors to the development of the country. People of India are witnessing visible developments in all fronts, he further added.
Loksabha MP Tapir Gao asked the officers to submit all the utilization certificates timely and to update their respective portals to get necessary sanction of the fund. MLAs Kaling Moyong and Ninong Ering also spoke and shared their suggestions. DC Tayi Taggu and PD (DRDA) Tajing Padung delivered welcome address and vote of thanks respectively.
