In the present era of Information Technology, it is very important for all wings of district administration to be in direct and constant touch with the general public, not only of the district but also of the people living outside the district. This is touchstone of any sensitive and welfare-oriented administration.

            In this direction, it is a matter of the great pride for all of us to launch the new updated Web site of East Siang District, which has been designed and developed by NIC, East Siang. The Web Site contains useful information about the district covering various aspects of the district administration and its profile. The Photo Gallery of some important flora and fauna add to the usefulness of Website. Reference has also been made to various e-governance projects running successfully in the district in different government departments.

            Here, I would also like to place on record my appreciation to DIO and his of NIC, East Siang District who have helped in computerizing day-to-day functioning of police department, CIPA installation at Ruksin Police Station and Boleng Police Station, Accounting (Pay Roll) Software and Human Resource Management Software at district police office and organizing training modules for the police personnel and the staff of S.P. Office for operation of computers. Similarly software, such as ‘VAHAN’ and ‘SARATHI’ developed by NIC and being utilized by Transport department are also very useful for police department for enhancing traffic discipline on the road as well as help in stream lining the procedure of vehicle registration grant of driving license in the district.

            I convey my sincere thanks to the District Informatics Officer, NIC and Deputy Commissioner / Sectoral Officers, Public Representatives and other officials of D.C.’s office, who have extended their wholehearted cooperation by providing contends for the District Website.
